I am officially launching a project to turn this hollowed-out Citizen CT-200N calculator shell into an ultra-slim mini Android 14 tablet! Since the case is under 1cm flat (9.7cm x 6cm x 1cm), Iām skipping thick off-the-shelf boards and learning how to design a custom 4-layer carrier PCB in KiCad using an RK3566 System-on-Module (SoM) and a MIPI DSI display screen.
My goal is to make it capable of handling smooth animations, WhatsApp messaging/calling, and even some full-speed GBA emulation!
I'm completely new to KiCad and hardware routing, so I'll be sharing my mouse-clicking progress here regularly. Stoked to join the community and ship this! š
