0-day streak
:winter-hardware-wonderland: Day 7 of #WinterHardwareWonderland :winter-hardware-wonderland: Today I began working on the the MIDI Controller :blobhypedance: I familiarized myself with the Arduino and setup a prototype. Tomorrow's plan is to assemble the enclosing using cardboard (sadly the printer is down) and then begin soldering... :rapid: No challenges yet, hoping for a smooth process for my first Arduino project. 3 more days to go

:winter-hardware-wonderland: Day 6 of #WinterHardwareWonderland :winter-hardware-wonderland: Today, I was inspired by the Future Sketches Group at MIT to explore gestural control using openCV, mediapipe, and openFrameworks. Really fun stuff I'm looking to integrate into more designs! Unfortunately, no progress on the MIDI controller because of printing issues. I plan to begin soldering without the case tomorrow and use cardboard for the case until the printer is up and fixed. 4 more days to go ahhh :rapid:

:winter-hardware-wonderland: Day 5 of #WinterHardwareWonderland :winter-hardware-wonderland: Printing was unsuccessful :sadsip: ... sooo it was yet another day of TouchDesigner (woohoo!!). First, I worked on multiple audio visualizers and a beat detector for drum sounds I will assign to midi controller when it is assembled. I then went down the rabbit hole of ML/ai art and tried it out. I also tested inputs like an XBOX Controller and phone sensors (using Zig Sim) which added a new level of interactivity to the visuals. To end off the day, I watched tons of videos on soldering and midis. We're already halfway there... only more 5 days to go :rapid:

:winter-hardware-wonderland: Day 4 of #WinterHardwareWonderland :winter-hardware-wonderland: Today I made some final touches to the cad and started printing the case for my MIDI controller. Print time was around 15hrs(!!) so while waiting I tested simple audio reactivity and motion tracking in TouchDesigner. While doing that, I came across OSC apps like TouchOSC, Zig Zim, and Vision OSC which I am really excited to incorporate into the project. That was it for today, 6 more days to go!

:winter-hardware-wonderland: Day 4 of #WinterHardwareWonderland :winter-hardware-wonderland: I finally started 3D printing the case for the MIDI controller. The print was around 15 hours so while waiting I 6 days more to go

:winter-hardware-wonderland: Day 3 of #WinterHardwareWonderland :winter-hardware-wonderland: Today I worked on calibrating/fine tuning the 3D printer to ensure everything goes smoothly for printing tomorrow. There's a 4-day weekend so I plan to pick up the pace with this project and begin printing the MIDI controller case. I plan to change a few things to the cad before printing. Hopefully that goes well so I can begin assembly! 7 days more to go :rapid:

:winter-hardware-wonderland: Day 2 of #WinterHardwareWonderland :winter-hardware-wonderland: Hey all! Today I focused on setting up my projector and camera. To my surprise everything went great and so I made a couple designs to test it. Unfortunately, I made no progress on the main hardware aspect of my project (MIDI controller). BUT I am planning to complete it as soon as I can get a hold of the 3D printer. I suspect I can finish it in a day so no stress :blobhypedance: Nonetheless, super exciting stuff today in terms of creating visuals!! 8 days more to go :rapid:

:winter-hardware-wonderland: Day 1 of #WinterHardwareWonderland :winter-hardware-wonderland: First of all, I love seeing the progress from different projects so early on! Nice job everyone! As for my project, I am creating an Interactive Digital Art Installation and MIDI Controller. For more info here’s the PR: github.com/hackclub/winter/blob/main/Amagtoto.md So… it was a busy day today so I did not get much done. However, since all the materials arrived considerably early we (my sisters and I) set up the 3D printer and did a couple wacky test prints. I have the cad for the MIDI controller case from the step-by-step tutorial I am following and am planning to print that asap. As for the digital art, I have familiarized myself with TouchDesigner over the past few weeks and so today I learned how to incorporate the webcam into the displays. I plan to set up the projector screen tomorrow. 9 days more to go (hoping to make much more progress soon) :acongablob:
