#arcade Complete custom redesign of my website's home page ganlouis.com/home. My previous homepage was using basic templates from Wordpress, but now I have more experience in web development I decided to custom design and develop a site from the ground up. There are a few new technologies that I have learnt and implemented, such as marquee3k.js, an implementation of Google Design's custom cursor, and variable fonts.

#arcade This is a proof of concept for a registration system using Firebase realtime database to sync up all the records of 'last-seen' of the individuals. There is also an option to broadcast an alert for anyone, which will be displayed with animations. #arcade I host an arcade with my friends with a credit system using NFC cards; this custom Android app enables syncing with a Firebase database and makes read/write easy with records in the NFC tag.

#arcade For this project I produced a travel film about Vietnam with my own footage on a past holiday, and used this time to video edit it. Customised Digital Dot matrix Desk Clock w/ Arduino UNO #arcade Components used: Arduino UNO, 8x32 Dot Matrix, Rotary Encoder Custom boot animation and personalised message + change brightness and adjust time via a single rotary encoder!

To change time just twist the rotary encoder;
to change brightness twist the rotary encoder while pushing the button

#arcade Modified my own custom firmware for my Quansheng UV-K5 ham radio, now with custom firmware for enhanced functionality such as custom boot image, restored alarm broadcast and tone mode, and transmission on AM bands using fm. Primarily for use in hiking outdoors with friends, communication across long distances. github.com/thelouisgan/uv-k5-firmware-custom (for avgeeks this is also capable to listen to ATC transmissions through AM bands)

#arcade github.com/thelouisgan/BoggetDotsNFC_Mobile This is an Android app for ganlouis.com/boggetdots, a home arcade membership card system to track credits and rewards. and a way for me to gain app development skills. The card data will be read and synced with Firebase Realtime Database. Implemented Android Material 3 Cards for live update of stored records. This the first step in creating a 'credit card' viewing user interface.

Winter Hardware Wonderland #hardware-party There were complications in getting the Hack Club Bank to work and parts were slow to ship from overseas - but finally I got all the parts to work and here is the first prototype of the Triton Amphibious Rover! github.com/hackclub/winter/blob/main/thelouisgan.md The RC controlled rover features a LEGO Technic vehicle that I coupled with a motor, and for the water side of things I rigged an underwater motor and 3D printed rudder to a 25KG servo motor. All this is remotely controlled with an RC so that you can take it to explore different terrain and locations! It is also powered by a rechargeable LiPo battery and will be able to operate up to 15 minutes on a full charge in optimal conditions. Will update more photos and videos of it in action soon! Please do give feedback/suggestions as this is my first big scale project and thanks to @MelanieSmith and @belle for the support.
