no comment… #brainrot
Went to the art museum and saw some art! Also won this fella in a game of “ultimate bingo.” I haven’t named him yet.
Went whale watching today! Super awesome.
recharged my charliecard for possible adventures this coming week?
pov it’s past midnight and you’re trying to sort out a jumble of cables. Also, I got boba today with some friends, but I forgor to take a picture :(
red sox game except it gets rained out
chilling in the ACed dining room 😋
Explored campus and some libraries today. All Shakespeare!
Moved into a college dorm today. No AC so I moved the bed under the fan. Thank goodness I’m not sharing the room lol
Day 15 of #15-days-in-public: I gave end times to my events, adjusted some spacing, and set the week to the actual week of HacKnight. Below will be my "ship" for #15-days-in-public:
During #15-days-in-public, I worked on my #cider project, an app that makes it easier for participants to engage and get the latest information for a hackathon. Right now, to make development easier, I'm developing it as if it's specifically an app for #hacknight, but in the future, hackathon organizers would be able to create their own hackathon with their own participants. Due to a busy schedule, I haven't finished a lot of the features I have wanted to yet. Check out the README on the GitHub for a little more details.
In its current state, you can create an account and log in, and you can view the schedule. The schedule will change depending on the actual time and highlight any current events happening right now.
People on the minecraft server voted to disable villagers, so I've been trying to figure out how to do that while making it theoretically reversible if we want to use villagers again (with a datapack). My current solution is to set all their trades to have a max use of 0, so it appears as if you've bought up everything already.
No #15-days-in-public today either, had to relax and play some Minecraft. I will definitely lock in and finish up tmrw. Peep Sir Grabs-a-lot, a robosub I helped make as part of MIT SeaPerch
unfortunately no time for #15-days-in-public today. Prepped for the start of season 9 of me and my friends' minecraft server. Very excited to begin!
Day 12 of #15-days-in-public: Continued work on my schedule by adding cards for each event on the schedule. Right now, it highlights the events in the same hour, but tomorrow, I will add an end time to the events.
Day 11 of #15-days-in-public: Another day, another #cider moment. I was super tired today, so I just added the basic rendering of events on the schedule. I spent a lot of time trying to figure out why it wasn't rendering, only to figure out that I hadn't called the view...
Day 10 of #15-days-in-public: honestly got less work done than I hoped to because I was busy getting me and my friends' minecraft server prepped to start a new world. Today, I continued work on my #cider app with the schedule by making a tab showing the days of the current week.
Prepping for a new season of my minecraft server, but pov minecraft updates the datapack stuff and your extension isn't updated yet
Day 9 of #15-days-in-public: Found a decent youtube tutorial and started work on the schedule. I'm hoping to grind it out for #arcade in the next 6 days though.
Day 8 of #15-days-in-public: Not much work today—I got ready to make my schedule, and I spent a good while looking on YouTube for examples/tutorials. If anyone knows of a good one, lmk! I'm looking to recreate a day view in Calendar.
Day 7 of #15-days-in-public: Definitely my most productive day yet. I completely revamped the login system with Firebase authentication. Now you can create an account, log in (if you already have an account), and sign out, and everything gets stored in Firebase and Firestore.
Also unrelated: I got WFA certified today! If only I was going on #the-trail, but unfortunately, I have other conflicts :(
Day 6 of #15-days-in-public: I'm worried I won't finish this in time... I'll lock in this weekend trust. Today, I finally figured out how to get rid of the "Back" button after logging in, but I think I'm going to completely redo that system now that I got Firebase setup :)
Day 5 of #15-days-in-public: Moved the login view outside profile view, so it redirects you to your profile once you're logged in, and when you log out, you're back to the login screen. The back button is being stubborn—I'm trying to get rid of it.
Day 4 of #15-days-in-public: Not much work today—I made some general improvements to my current code. I should have thought twice before installing the beta on my macbook when I'm in the middle of working on a project...
See how the file in the sidebar doesn't match the file opened at the top? It's because Xcode has stopped responding. The screenshot doesn't capture the rainbow wheel of doom, but this has been spinning for a few minutes now...
Day 3 of #15-days-in-public: Installed Xcode 16 for the new macOS Sequoia, and then it had to install the iOS 18 sim (which hasn't even finished so idk if my code works or not). Moving on from my failures yesterday with the schedule, I started work on a login screen, and I'm going to work on proper authentication tmrw (with hashing and salting etc).
Day 2 of #15-days-in-public: Everything sucks. Basically everything I saw on YouTube used storyboards, but I don't really know how to use that with SwiftUI, which is what the rest of my app uses right now. My lack of knowledge is really limiting me here. I may just start fresh tomorrow. Also, the scope of my project might be a little too big to handle right now. I think I'll just focus on making it into a #hacknight app for now and expand in the future.
Today was my birthday! I started easel for #building-programming-languages today, but I don't have much to show for right now.
Day 1 of #15-days-in-public: I started my #cider project. I downloaded and familiarized myself with Xcode and Swift. Who knew Swift is actually pretty cool? I made myself a menu bar that goes to different pages. I also drew out on paper my visions for the app.
Continued working on my website: turned some links into "cards"
Added some new pages to my website though it's heavily wip for now...
Cleared of my todos for the school year and began planning for the summer...
Updated my wizard orpheus ai text adventure game with better background colors and now a mom
Added background color to my AI text adventure game, dependent on how close the mosquito is to you. Ideally, it would go from white to dark red as the mosquito gets closer, but I haven't figured that out yet. I'm gonna work on making them only shades of red tomorrow.
inspired by my experience of getting bitten several times right before the workshop at #hacknight...
#boba at #hacknight. Possibly repping #brainrot...
preparing for tomorrow… jk i’m just stuck here waiting for my parents
Suffering with @SofiaEgan trying to prepare for #hacknight (I only had to leave because of dinner). Made good use of /z though. I spent the entire time answering and sending emails…
Spent a long time (some with Sarah) trying to figure out why everything was underlined. Forgot I checked a setting in Firefox a bit ago :neocat_facepalm:.
just submitted my first bin project, but I have some other ideas I want to make (also first scrapbook!)
