Maybe I'll try to keep my freecodecamp and hack club workshops path!@damian0built a workflow for #damian-does-things โ playing around with workflows & forms to build something cool ๐
@belle0finishing day 10 of #10-days-in-public with a lecture on flight planning! did not reach my original goal of finishing the entire lecture series but i'm definitely still going to be going through it :) to celebrate this being the last day, here's 3 cool things i learned:
โข all runways are bi-directional and named after the angle/bearing so runway 180 is also runway 360 :) and you take off against the direction of the wind (it hits the nose of the plane first) so a runway working both ways allows pilots (instructed by the air traffic controller) to pick a direction depending on the weather.
โข planes are louder when they take off than when they land because they use more power to initially get the plane in the air
โข from 18,000 to 60,000 feet above sea level, the pilot must have an instrument rating and fly under instrument flight rules which basically means using data from your flight instruments to navigate rather than using your eyes haha, and that's because you have lowered visibility
(bonus: it's possible to safely land a plane even if your engine stops working because you're able to glide, and how far you can travel while gliding depends on your glide ratio)
@peepooppeepoop-U045Z4U1Y2X0day 7 of #10-days-in-public today i finally got started on my film script. i also decided a soundtrack for my movie which would be igor stravinskyโs rite of spring. writing is actually pretty hard though so i prefer to just draw out what i want to happen in the movie rather than writingโฆ yucky.
โข i also came up with a scene in the movie where you had people riding carnotaurusโs charging into battle with pterodactyl pilots swooping overhead which i thought would be cool.
@belle0didn't make that much progress today with the lecture series, still on the same lecture about aircraft performance :)) i did learn a cool/fun fact about flying planes though, most of the time, headwind is better than tailwind because at the right angle of attack (angle of your plane relative to the wind), it helps generate greater lift :)
day 4 of #10-days-in-public
@maggie1day 2 of #10-days-in-public! @AdithyaPappula-U03MRQPF7N3 made a super cool design for the #epoch-ba website, so i started implementing that in :astro: + :tailwind:

@j_cordz7+Today my #scrapbook ended! :sadge::fireball: After 418 days my streak has officially come to an end! This morning I got the painful message from @scrappy-U015D6A36AG that I forgot to post last night. I completely meant to but it slipped my mind for the first time since I joined Hack Club :hack-club:, I had a lot of homework and projects so I couldn't post anything on time. That being said, although it was cool to keep it until this day, this is the last post I will do to my scrapbook and thanks to everyone who followed along for 418 days! โก

@linkai0day 1 of revamping my personal website!! im going for apple design vibes :cool-apple:@zrl0I modified a Python notebook that transcribes audio files using OpenAIโs Whisper model and breaks the text out by speaker to have clean Markdown output. Itโs pretty cool! Give it a try: github.com/zachlatta/openai-whisper-speaker-identification
Once you click โOpen in Colabโ go to Runtime > Run all and then upload an audio file. It will then transcribe the file and download a Markdown file with the transcript, with speakers broken out!
@adelly130hosted an AMA session with Zach Latta today at my schoolโs computer science club! super glad I was able to join from home as I recovered from COVID-19. it was so cool to get to hear what itโs like to work at hack club and what exciting projects heโs working on and to chat with him a little about machine learning! thanks @zrl for the wonderful, insightful session!

Not much development, i was tutoring and running errands (new haircut!). Fall break is over :crying_sunglasses_cowboy: wrote some notes for my classes in prep for tmr. Flight back to philly was actually not that bad surprisingly, i met a cool dude who we shared a mutual with and we talked the whole flight. Iโll have an update later tonight w progress on projects ๐

> A simple app to find the best meeting spots between 2 or more people, with the ability to filter between spots like cafes, restaurants, or more.@ella0For day 3 of #10-days-in-public, I tried to set up this Kinect sensor I found at HQ; I installed the OpenKinect driver, though it seems not to be detecting the Kinect. My end goal with this is to do cool visual things with the Kinect sensor, like projection mapping.
@tejasbhartiya0Day 2/10 #10-days-in-public worked on my secret project! Learned a lot about encryption stuff which was really cool. I also watched the hacking google series which Iโd recommend to anyone!
@KaraMassie-U032A2PMSE90Day 2 of #10-days-in-public is more studying up on the various types of molds and materials, especially since silicone can be very expensive ! www.reynoldsam.com was recommended , and they look very cool but ecoflex is $262/gal. The thing I want to cast is 5x6", which will mean about a 6" tall x 7" dia tube, which is about 1gal in vol. I'm guessing roughly half for the piece. Annnnd a gallon of liquid silicone is $90-250 depending where I get it. SO! Tomorrow I'm going to find a smaller version of the thing to test, and I've ordered a smaller amount.
i might also try a smaller object at first....
@toby0day 1 of #10-days-in-public! today i was working on building the ability to write and view code in tilde using a cool package called codemirror! :D
