@Sam4GitHub Copilot Chat is quite cool and seems useful!
@thatrobotdev4While studying for my calc final, an Italian practice meetup came in to the Starbucks! Without knowing a lick of Italian I met a lot of cool people and figured out that I could understand like 40% of what they were saying because of how similar Italian was to Spanish. Maybe I’ll learn some more Italian so I can continue making language friends 😁
@thatrobotdev4Okay I wanna code/hack on something cool every day of the summer if I can, so I’ll be sharing a lot more here!! I just finished preparing for our last Hack Club meeting for this year, and I’m so excited to celebrate our club members! Pictured here is my cool sister 😎
@arav1🔗 It was a little difficult figuring out what event people came from when they joined the slack.
But, gone are the days of pre-filling the welcome reason or sending them a DM.
As Angelhacks got a little closer, after talking with some people, I thought it would make more sense to have a new parameter on the join form that would keep track of where they came from, add them to the right channels automatically, and give them a chance to introduce themselves with the welcome reason.
For example, if you joined from hackclub.com/slack/?event=angelhacks, or something like hackclub.com/slack/?event=angelhacks-toronto or any future event, Toriel will check for the event name in it's transcript, and add you to #angelhacks, and so forth.
It was my first time working with :prisma: Prisma and some :nextjs: stuff , and I have to say they're both supper cool and fun to work with (well for the most part, this took me longer than I would like to admit :p)@SameerYasin-U04FRLBSY567+There are two phases that #bookworms go through, We buy a book for it's content or we buy a book for it's cover! But this book has both!
Its a must read!!

@SameerYasin-U04FRLBSY567+Greetings,:beatsaber: fellow Hackers, Hack Clubbers & hardware wizards! It's Day 12 of WHW #hardware-party, and I come bearing exciting news from our winter wonderland drone project. After weeks of hard work, late nights, and endless cups of hot water (Did not have cocoa:sadge:), we've finally done it! Our drone is complete!!!:aussieparrot:
The drone has very cool attachments & features like a high-resolution camera and advanced sensors that can detect changes in temperature, humidity, and air pressure. It's highly adaptable and can fly in humid, fog, and terrain which is difficult to traverse! Along the road, we faced our fair share of difficulties, from debugging code to testing flight stability while being ill, but I overcame them all with the help of my trusty hot water and team spirit.
It was all worthwhile in the end. We have developed a drone that is not only useful but also a tonne of fun.
In the end, I would like to T:hackclub-slack:ANK @HackClubBank-U04SEGJ8WN5 for funding this project and @MelanieSmith for overseeing it, and @TanishqUpmanu-U04F0RWGARH for helping me so much! Now, let's raise a cup of hot water (cocoa for the rich people☕) to this fantastic journey of building a drone project and celebrating its end. This will be my last WHW post and #drone series. Thank you all for supporting! I'll see you all tomorrow! Bye, Goodnight!
PS : Gonna get into all the #44-74 stuff going around! Gotta solve those mysteries YK!
@lucaspotter0got a black unlabeled envelope so I figured it was either something cool or anthrax and hey! i'm not dead.
@malted0Funky 3D map for my website shows my current location. I'm sure that won't be a problem since it's really cool.
@SameerYasin-U04FRLBSY567+Day 8 of WHW #hardware-party, I had to head out early because we had to go to our village :villager: for EID💫 . So, I woke up really early and did some wiring and assembled the bldc motor & tested the net thrust component, I got some reading around 1.1kg in net force, and then headed out. Rest of day was packed with EID preparation and i am awaiting tomorrow :akkoshrug: eagerly. Well, that was it for today! I'll see you all tomorrow! Bye, Goodnight!
PS: After being yelled at by my father for driving:driftt: , (In his own words) "weirdly" :weirddude: i tried some cool art filters and edited some pictures.
@TheJasonPlayz0Hi everybody! This is gonna be my introduction to my scrapbook. The name's Jason! I love everything technology, from cybersecurity to 3D printing to coding. I hope I can share some really cool stuff with you guys in my hacker journey.
@Marios7+Today was the day I figured to mess with SDL! It was really cool when it actually worked in the end :D. I even implement a json config file for window parameters and error messages! The lazyfoo tutorials were actually really helpful.
@cytronicoder7+Sam giving a talk today! It was very cool :cooll-thumbs:
@ThomasStubblefield7+Revised more efficient burrow selection 🙂 (btw I wish I could add an image / video to my other scrapbook post, that would be cool)@thatrobotdev4Created a Jellyfin to store my YouTube archive + music on my network in a nice UI and learned a lot about Hack Club’s burrow on the project call (and kind of started a sort of journal to track my rust journey from 0, I really want to join as many of the weekly calls as possible since it’s a really cool project!).
@kognise0:shooting_pepe_cowboy: HOWDY Y’ALL! YEE HAW! HEARD YOUSE FOLKS LIKE GRAPHS AND NERD SHIT!
… that’s enough of that. We occasionally like looking at channel activity. Unfortunately, Slack’s official stats page SUCKS. Poor @KaraMassie has been, like, manually putting stuff into a spreadsheet every week for months.
So. I built her a nice little webapp to see weekly stats in a much improved form factor! Always fun making things from scratch :)
And since this stuff is cool to look at and helpful for everyone, it’s public and open to contributions -> slack-stats.hackclub.dev
@ThomasStubblefield7+My friend Dieter created a 3D model scan of me, found a free scene online, rigged my character, and made this cool dance video, a really neat proof of concept.
I also progressed 30min into the Swift course and began implementing MVVM into the sample project@sike1This was pretty cool and hanged with @cwalker today @sike1swift is pretty cool
@sarthak0howdy friends! i stayed up for a couple hours last night working on my personal website (it was very spur of the moment). i’ve been designing the site for over a year now and going through different designs i settled on one simpler so i didn’t have to update it. i present version 4 of my personal site srtk.me (old metadata still but idrc). very cool thing happens at the bottom, the music thing detects what device i’m listening on (and also changes the icon). wasn’t that hard, it just required a new refresh token w a new scope from Spotify. <3
@MahakKumawat-U04ER6F116H0Day 3 Photo one is when I gave up after like 3 hours of trial and error and photo 2 despite not looking as cool as I expected it to be could be considered as a prototype for the my vision I will be working on soon. I have 2 write 1 paper and read 3 scientific papers to give an ppt on it tommorow so I would be MIA untill then (24 hours from now ). See you soon with another update !
@linus0lol I’m horrifically behind but for winter hardware wonderland today I got my moisture sensor working and spewing data over serial (with one of my leaps!)! It’s pretty damn cool@msw0day 8 of 10 in my #hardware-party project: on today’s episode of my split-flap display project, we have an *ASMR* segment! try watching the video for tactile goodness. i now have enough flaps to make a full rotation. it seems to be stuttering, but i think that’s because the emergency stop button (in previous scraps) is faulty.
but the flaps?! they’re blank?! i was originally looking into vinyl cutting letter and numbers for them, but @ella helped me by trying out some cool white paint markers which are super visible.
@MahakKumawat-U04ER6F116H0I got all my parts yesterday [DAY 1 YAY ! /s] (thanks to moving to Sitka AK + my delay in getting the grant) and realized one I start working I cannot wash the hoodie without taking on any risks. This should hardly take like an hour but thanks to procrastinating a piling amount of assignments I cannot start working my TRON HOODIE until after the test in the morning. I will start working and hopefully finish the project tomorrow 6 to 8 PM AKST and would be somewhere here on slackwhile I am doing so. Cheers to hackclub and everyone who is making cool tech !

IntelliBag | Day 4
Tested out diffuser materials, not much done today but the led panels look cool @KrauseOllyKrause-U04FKJ5CSK10Proof of concept design, will slide into my helmet for some cool footage on my go kart #hardware-party
@ky2006170Ahhhh! Robotics had me crazy today so I couldn’t sit down and CAD a case.
Regardless, I made this cool pivoting gearbox that has a 400:1 gear ratio.
And it was a clear sky day too!
@CamdanMead-U04J96SRS5B0The laser works! Pretty cool. Time to design the business card and website...@MariannaFairweather-U0323LCESTW0Hi, we're (@reedherlihy-U0468UMF4D9) (@sam-U04M6SVHVCP) (@MariannaFairweather-U0323LCESTW) working on a project we call Mr. Knock-out.
We're attempting to build an RC car from scratch.
We started by planning what we to do when we stumbled across a car that could run on the wall, It was too ambitious, because we had limited time to work on the project. So instead we decided to make an RC car.
We thought of a cool black and bright green design for the outside car.
Then we worked on installing MU editor, and looking over Ali express for any items we might need.
We also started to design the inside of our car with Tinker cad.
Finally we started soldering and wiring up our RP2040.
Then we started to connect it to the mechanical key board switches made by Gateron.
Now we're working on coding the buttons to do specific things.

IntelliBag | Day 1
The first day of making IntelliBag! (name due for change soon). Nearly all my parts arrived in a last minute Amazon order, which worked out perfectly. This project is intended to be a “smart backpack” with a bunch of cool new features everyday!
And today, for day 1, I’m doing a dry run of all the USB-based “wiring” and electronics.
I’m going to keep all the electronics hidden in a secret flap of the bag, with waterproof port covers that are easy to access from the outside. Plus, the extension cable will be conveniently located next to the laptop slot.
Even when it’s not in the bag, this setup is super powerful! I’m using a USB power bank that’s connected to a powered USB hub - this way, I can power any device I want and even give pass-through charging to my laptop! And the power bank itself has passthrough charging, which means that if I plug any USB-C charger into the external port, it’ll start charging every device in the bag AND store some charge in the battery itself!
But that’s not all! The power bank supports both input and output for that port, so I can get high-wattage output too! I’m so excited to see how this all turns out - it’s going to be amazing!

@ArcadeWise0Spritely's Goblins and How They're Gonna Steal the Futurearcades.agency/goblins.html
NEW BLOG POST!
I go into a code demo of a cool framework for capability-based asynchronous things! Spritely's Goblins is amazing. The post is the longest one yet!
@Sean7+Went to see Blood Brothers, and cried in confusion trying to use bank api's. Had a debate w mum on why she should sign a contract for bank. And put up this cool looking picture
@Peiprjs7+I'm gonna be getting my cool hacktoberfest shirt!
@Sean7+Working on something cool and unofficial for bank 🙂
@ZeroQL7+I’ve got mail !
Emirates Post broke my lamp :sadge: , but got some pet cool stickers :blob_hype:
@Verisimilitude110Learning how to use PocketBase - it's a really cool way to link your database with your frontend and Go backend!
@ShubhamPatil1linear is actually pretty cool im using it for a project. it keeps me on track
@Aileen0Assembled this cool pedaling machine to use while sitting down!
@khalby7860gathering inspiration for designing cool new stuff :eyes_shaking:, remaking my website yet again, running a new vanilla minecraft server (it's that time of the year again!) and [not in picture] studying for a small cs test tomorrow involving logic gates and algebra (? idk how that got into cs, we were doing just fine dealing with it literally everywhere else). can't wait for the weekend!
@brianna0not my pic but I wanna make this for winter hardware wonderland 👀 animatronic eyes. creepy but cool 😎
@ZeroQL7+#w-of-the-day day 5
5 days already, cool
had to brush up on sveltekit's syntax for today, a lot changed since it hit 1.0 but i'm glad there's a stable release now and no more major changes will occur
@jzaleta6Today is December 30th so the year is almost over! Here's my 2022 GitHub Unwrapped! There's a lot of missing commits and other weird things but still is very cool! On 2023 I plan to follow a better guide for learning web dev correctly! Maybe I'll try to keep my freecodecamp and hack club workshops path!
