welp I guess I have to lock in on programming tomorrow
had to go to school today for college stuff, talked to my old cs teachers about hackclub which was fun! They might be calling me to talk about it in school. Most students have exams now tho so itll be just the 8th graders. yappapayappayapaayapa

here's a photo of LMMS for today's photo
@restaurantEntity3Day 17/365the lock in doth come before the lock outTasks I made progress on:
• Khrome
◦ Did 1 hour of work
▪︎ I was finagling around with two different audio software trying to make one of them work with Vital before I scrapped my projects on both of them, restarted on LMMS and realised there was an instrument specifically designed to import external VSTs into LMMS. Well. Hmm.
▪︎ So I gave up on music, played Cobblemon for an hour or two, then after a few spontaneous chores and stuff got back and added the pause system for my game. That's all I did.

Today was NOT a productive day. The lock-in-turned-lock-out huddle was fun tho!
The pause menu isn't anything too fancy, I'll prolly change it a bit later down the line. The main reason it wasn't done in like 10 minutes is because my UI is jank so I had to devise a clean way (debatable) to trigger the pause menu while pausing the game and not allowing other things (state change) to happen in that time.
Work for tomorrow: audio. I'll first start with sfx, then spend the rest of the time working on game music. I think something either dark techno or something similar to the vibe of Bloxorz would fit the game.

I finished my essays! On the music side, I think what I'll do is force myself to choose a set of random instruments and make a song out of them. I also journaled a bunch so that is an improvement, mostly just yapping about random thoughts but I'm hoping that once I get into the flow I start tracking more deeper thoughts and stuff.
Some things I should do tomorrow:
• Fill out everything else in the Common App
• Play around with the plugins I didn't get to try because of some issues with loading them
• Work on my aces project brainstorm or one of the slackbots

@esther0Day 25/50
Erm, I actually haven't updated in 20 million years :im-sobbing: (procrastination) BUT I have done quite a bit since then, working on making a couple games 🙂
TLDR;
• Worked on game for band concert background video
• Worked on developing idea for my game jam entry
Specifically today, I've been working on a game that I wanted to show for background graphics for my band class's upcoming concert. This game is for the piece "Pixels" by Randall Standridge. I mainly worked on adjusting player physics and player inputs for the boss fight arena to correlate with the level 3 section in the piece of music. It took me SOO long just to fix it but I finally got it.
I also started working on planning the idea for my Girls Got Game game jam entry. My original idea was WAY too complicated for me to do within the time span of the game, so I came up with a more simpler idea that I could execute within Ren'py as a sort of visual novel.
@lraj230Day 17:
• Last exam out of the way! That's an end to the academic year - finally. :face_exhaling:
• Started setting up a VM for macOS with quickemu in order to aid my packaging effors.
• Made some lemon cookies, went to a party, I'm now engaged for a badminton duel to the death or smth...

@matmanna0made this library a little while ago but never officially "shipped" it here
do you play the electric guitar or bass? are you a fan of reverse engineering and/or (music) hardware hacking? if so, my new venture, Bender, might be interesting to you:
Aiming to liberate proprietary music hardware through protocol reverse engineering, my first project in this space, LtAmp.py, serves to enable interfacing with the LT-series amps produced by a certain giutar manufacturer that rhymes with Bender and names their products after horses. As of now, the library:
• is fully MIT-licensed, source-available, and star-able on GitHub
• is installable through pip and listed on PyPI (the python package index)
• supports almost all basic functions including preset management, footswitch slot configuration, and metadata
• enables the creation of other apps and tools such as CLIs, alternative GUIs, and augmentation platforms
• is fully tested with the LT25 model (but should work with others such as 40-100 and Rumble)
• is the first non-.NET solution for connecting to this series of amps (that I know of)
If you're at all interested in this project or anything else I'm planning at Bender, please leave a star (⭐), follow the GitHub org, or reply/DM/issue with suggestions, questions, ideas (I'd be thrilled to chat about anything but music tech excites me a lot!)
@hex40day 11!
uh didn't get much done today either because i was catching up on s4 of stranger things but i did do some research on a new project idea, called mixtape. what if you gave an AI access to a strudel.cc workspace and asked it to give me some background music for working? no code yet so here's my hack club ai dashboard :p
@logabe0Day :tw_two:/50:
• Sat my Physics exam! I think it went pretty well, I was confused a bit by the DC Circuits section but having spammed past papers helped a lot :)
• Found out that apparently the test conditions for the license exam will be changing next month?? Gonna call and book my test tomorrow
• Transcribed some sheet music from an arrangement On The Sunny Side Of The Street that I'll transpose and start practicing tomorrow
@WillKuntze0played in my schools remembrance ceremony today as part of the band! the sheet music was very easy compared to my level though/
@Lapis0I got tired of there being no proper Discord RPC tools for Audacious (my main local music player app) so I made one myself!
If you for some reason also use Audacious too here you go!

@Aishaani0JAMS Dev Drafts is a crazy idea I've had for a while: a site you where can make pixel art AND music tracks. It's supposed to be a good tool for game developers (although it can be multi purpose and used by anyone, because I'm not planning on restricting anything). So, this is what the start of JAMS Dev Drafts looks like:
@TC1000day 28: I'm taking a break from physics today in order to cook really hard on #C098A4657FT| whilst blasting music through my headphones because I haven't listened to music that's not my own pitiful violin playing in way too long. My game is pretty ugly rn (and I spent like 1 hour struggling to make hearts render and trying to figure out where I went wrong because I didn't make them a child node of the player node but whatever) but I'll get it done ig. And then I'm praying I can end the day with some physics reading and some nice warm tea (it's mechanics day today and I've been looking at hamiltonians on the side of my astro prep sooo :DDDDD). 🔥 3
@virtualfuzz0i think i finished my favoritemusicbadge thing, it now supports last.fm and listenbrainz! (even made a system to try to get the favorite music from listenbrainz, then last.fm, and youtube if the first one fails)
also discovered listenbrainz and last.fm while doing this and it seems very useful/interesting since listenbrainz is open source-ish and there is a vencord plugin for last.fm so people can know what im listening
@virtualfuzz0so my favoritemusicbadge project can now take the top music from last.fm, planning to then add, listenbrainz support then we are done! its also backwards compatible with the older version (i mean it should be) so thats pretty cool!
(no, the api key has been made up, you got the wrong one, believe me.)
@virtualfuzz0day 4, no pun here
i need to go to sleep rahhhh
worked this whole day on reamde, rushed everything, i am so tired because this is alr the start of a new day
made a project codeberg.org/virtualfuzz/favorite_music_badge , it automatically parses your favorite music from youtube music and shows it as a badge on a repo, also automatically updates it if you make it run everyday (basically technically auto updates, technically doesnt), this is not getting published on ships because there are lots of finnicky things i really dont like
its sleeping time now
@SK0Yo, first time playing with FFmpeg and uh... I kinda got the Bad Apple music video to play in terminal ASCII. It's kinda cursed but it works
Repo's here if you wanna peek: github.com/SajagIN/vidminal
@guacmd0working very hard on Playgrate's backend - finally got my Apple Music playlist scraping Python module done! now just have to figure out the goddamn Spotipy OAuth2 flow :smiling_face_with_tear:
@laith0updated the theme of my portfolio/website, also the music section. Kind of a lazy day in terms of coding, but it's okay :3
@Irtaza0Day 2/10 of #C045S4393CY|:
Implemented a Music manager + added background music, and coded an Audio manager for sound effects!@Aram0🚢 BOIDS! 🚢
Have you ever looked at birds in the sky and wondered... I wonder what the mathematical calculations for there movement were? You probably haven't but if you have, that's a real thing!
It's called Boids. It's based on 3 rules (separation, cohesion, alignment) and can make some movements that look like schools of fish 🐟 or bird 🐦 movement, it can even make really satisfying timelapses!
So over the last week-ish I decided to make a pygame script to simulate these Boids and create a program to see these mesmerizing patterns thats a mix between art and music!
You can check out the code (and compile it yourself to run) here (give it a star maybe :p) , if you want to read more about boids, the wikipedia page is pretty good and there are a bunch of articles about it.
I'll try to host a 24/7 <https://youtube.com/live/xwIw1qobiUw?feature=share|stream> for as long as possible if anyone wants to see it in action!
@snej550Exam week is finally over! Today I added some coins to my game, with some more vfx, some more sounds, font rendering (with SDL_ttf), some ui improvements, leaves (particles that fall from the trees and stuff, kinda hard to see with all of the coins), and did some debugging (another seg fault waah). Next I am planning to add some lava, music and a main menu (finally).

@boki0Updated pop music website! Fixed slideshow, updated navigation bar, hamburger menu and also improved on the JavaScript code... My goal with this is to convince our school to let us have a space for student websites that we'd voluntarily make for fun… If anything I'm learning something new by making a site about a hobby
@DhairyaSHAH[11U19]-U040X9BB30C0AA havent posted the last few days cuz i forgot but been implementing my personal website with rust htmx and tailwidncss
some cool features, music player in the top right, time, and dark/light mode in the bottom right, cool navigation system on the top left
going to now add an org based prose collection and rendering
wylited.vercel.app
https<//github.com/wylited/webx>
@DhruvKangarla0day 5 of thanksgiving:
i added a score display, music, water texture, and variable speeds
@boki0Still working on the pop music website, working on the Taylor Swift page + I've figured out how to make the slideshow look good on small and big resolutions and I'm very happy right now!!!!
@boki0Worked on pop music for school again today, added navbar (w hamburger menu)... need to look into the slideshow since it looks kinda ugly right now and i don't know how to make it resize properly on different devices
@boki0Been working on a website relating to pop music for school, never really made something that wasn't really basic, so now i want to explore (copied the slideshow from w3)
