howdy friends! i stayed up for a couple hours last night working on my personal website (it was very spur of the moment). i’ve been designing the site for over a year now and going through different designs i settled on one simpler so i didn’t have to update it. i present version 4 of my personal site srtk.me (old metadata still but idrc). very cool thing happens at the bottom, the music thing detects what device i’m listening on (and also changes the icon). wasn’t that hard, it just required a new refresh token w a new scope from Spotify. <3
Day 1/10 for #10-days-in-public! Learning Adobe Illustrator today. I’m making a t-shirt for my school’s journalism program.
i am working on a new site design because i got bored with the old one
All of our Mintere sites are generated by components so you can’t do fancy stuff like negative margins and what not 😞 but anyways in Figma, I’m used to just generating a Macbook/Desktop Frame and scaling the height by x to get the exact vh for each section and then I do the fancy stuff with absolute positioning and negative margins.
Fast forward to today and I noticed something super interesting one of our designers (or both idk) which is really nice for componentized design. I might just use this method now cause it’s easier than scaling the height by x and trying to remember the original height. cc @ben
tldr: Use Auto-Layout with individual Macbook/Desktop frames and make your developers happy :)
i tried making a newsletter component
🚢 SHIP INCOMING 🚢
Today (in about 5-10 minutes actually), I created Anomaly Science's website. Check it out here: anomaly-science.vercel.app! I'm still off this Slack for the next two weeks so don't feel bad if I don't reply. Also, if anybody knows how to fix the B+ on DuckDuckGo, let me know, I think I have to add a special tag but not sure where the documentation on that is. Stay tuned for @nihal's Save the Entire Universe site which I'm expecting to be finished before the 8th.

🚢 new website incoming 🚢
I've been working on this for a few hours and I think it's good. It's supposed to be a website for right now saying I'm not available to work but still consider me. You can see the source code on my github. srtk.me.
🚢 CHALLENGE SHIP 🚢
Aight I’m shipping a link shortener which is faster than @rishi’s if I remove the Airtable integration. Like @rishi’s, it supports additional parameters at the end of a link. It’s written in Next.js and just as easy to clone. Check it out at srtk.me/gh/srtk.me-v2! (that link is using the shortener)
coming soon: ip address tracking with location and other information
Today (or rather tonight) I added some fancy cards, some headers, fixed the nav bar, and fixed my spotify widgets!
YEEHAWWWW 🤠 today i added a walkthrough page for my site cause my main page is super simple. My favorite parts are the custom card components I made and the timeline I made! Check it out at sarthakmohanty.me/walkthrough!
shipped my first next.js website! I’m so ecstatic! srtk.me
making my new site in next, it’s not as difficult as I thought!
when you FINALLY get to use Object and Boolean as params instead of just String
i’ve been taking mental health breaks throughout the day and I created a shortcut (edited from the shortcut marketplace) to help me with this. it blocks off a specific amount of time and sets an alarm when it’s done and turns on do not disturb
I have around 20 assignments due Monday morning. I have 1 day to complete them. Wish me luck!
just created a "find me locator" and a "task looker-atter" yeeee
I have broken my streakkkk so I’m gonna give up. Today I saw @itsmingjie get a seven day streak
Learning next.js auth
I hope I didn’t miss my deadline but I’m still trying to finish this
I signed up for a virtual Mac and I accidentally put someone else’s email. I’m super good at this.
Omg for a second I thought I broke my streak. Some person used Tor to access next year site.
Created a search bar while also breaking a different mixin somehow
I have just discovered bootstrap has themes. I've applied the Cyborg theme onto my resource bank. Gotta fix a few styling issues tho like the size of the headers:
I've been trying to learn backend development. I'm using middleware and the AWS CLI to make some dynamic links in pug. I don't know what to put as the picture so here are the first few lines of my code:
