Experimented with creating my own font for a mini project yesterday! Meet marker trail :~)
Recreated Code Ninjas in Minecraft using Python and the given inventory. Fun fact: Before this, I never knew how to play Minecraft, but now, I can confidently say I know more about it. The coders really loved it :~p Check out the process on Notion

Schema 2021: Building custom Figma plugins 🔨 And sneak peek into a FigJam widget I am currently working on WIP
Hi there! :parachute: Long time no see Hack Club. A few life updates… I voted for the first time a few weeks ago, been teaching kids how to code, playing around w/ how to create Figma widgets/plugins and did something kinda wild today… I jumped out of an airplane with my mom! It was a surreal, exciting experience and reminds me how small we are in this vast universe and to continue to do something outside of my comfort zone. I am super grateful and would love to do something like this again!
Tried Tartare and Ben & Jerry's Boom Chocolatta! for the first time! Pleasantly good for both. Would recommend trying tar-en out of ten
tbt to the time I skipped first period to participate in AI as a Mirror, a design thinking AI workshop metaworkshops.cargo.site
food for thought/random notes:
• solutionism / absolutism
• promises = risk
• how do we ensure that AI systems act in accordance with human values and whose values?
this is what I ended up creating in the 10 minute time frame we had and limited supplies... forest ai! an ai device that helps human understand environmental implications
I got Okinawa milk tea boba and started a physical gratitude journal yesterday! Very calming and therapeutic ❤️ also played around tailwind css and created a moodboard for a website
Mini ship! 🚢 Taught my first intro to UX workshop this past weekend
I was pretty nervous about hosting one but I am glad I fought the fear and slightly conquered impostor syndrome in a way :p
We had lots of fun in the process and vibed to DPR Live. The link to the presentation (removed speaker notes but dm me if you want to see it though)
Yeah yeahh! Thank you MLH <333
Planned a solo trip to Santa Barbara! I purposefully left some wiggle room in my schedule to be spontaneous. Went e-biking, bought ice cream, saw lots of art in museums, thrifting, people watching at the pier and beach, etc. Very tired but had a lot of fun
KWK Week Two: Our team created a fully functional and somewhat responsive MVP website in less than 2 days! Our team was passionate about the AAPI community and decided to create "Cafe Oori" -- your one stop shop to AAPI resources. ☕ It's bittersweet to say goodbye but I've met a great group of people these past two weeks and made great memories. Here's to Dora Cat and Just Dance!KWK Week One: It’s the end of week one! It has truly been a blast being part of a community who hypes each other up in the comments, codes, and is just supportive overall. We reviewed HTML, CSS, and JS concepts. Along with what we learn, we do projects during our Night Hacks every day. I experimented with grayscale to color for a photo gallery project! (Photo credits to CODAME) ✨
Playing around with Adobe Illustrator :adobe: for the first time! 🏖️
I just finished Hydrangea Hacks! (s/o to the organizer + team 🐐 )
Our team created Signum, a web app that uses machine learning and camera vision to detect American Sign Language gestures in real-time for those who want to learn practical and necessary phrases in a fun, engaging way. We were able to create an image processing deep learning network that delivers a model with 90% accuracy in less than 24 hours. I helped with the UI/UX and research portion of the project and it was a fun process overall!

Google I/O - I really like this interactive virtual experience!
Config Day 2: Last day! Sad it's over; thank you Figma + the speakers! An incredible conference.:figma:
Some takeaways from multiple talks:
Find joy in making despite "design breakups"
Always empathize
Document everything
Be intentional with your growth
Universal challenges (Work priorities change. Prioritize innovation/the north star/hiring. Your team will look different when it started, so have a good pulse on morale and perspective. Scaling is not hustling, it's about building elastically and resiliency)
Attending Config 2021 Day 1 - "Figma is a space for everything and anything"
Key takeaways from this awesome talk by @/ace
Figma is a...
• sketchbook - learn by doing 📝
• a playground - thoughtful chaos :artist:
• home - comfort and purpose 🏡
• studio - bringing something to life ✨
• classroom - learning by teaching 💬
1. Master the toolbox :toolbox:
2. Get others involved 😎
3. Use what you make :figma:
Registered for Config (Figma's design conference) :figma: and released our school newspaper's first podcast episode you can check out here! It's about personal narratives and it serves as a historical archive of stories from students and other community members at our school. I am still figuring out how to podcast, but it has been a fun process piecing audio together
I spent most of my weekend practicing algorithmic problems, and I got an electronic kit from CodeDay. :codeday: I don’t have much experience with Arduino, so I am excited to see what I can build!

~facebook~ hackbook! :figma:
Spent the weekend mentoring and judging for StarHacks. It was a great hackathon + opening ceremony. Great work to everyone who participated. Time for a nap and calculus now!
This made my day!! Thank you Santa @austin:christmasparrot: Long time no see Scrapbook! I created a virtual gratitude wall last night. My club collected over 500 responses, so I coded a word cloud and designed a website to display info. Happy Thanksgiving! :aom:Added some dimension to my room. A few of my favorite postcards I got from people around the world. ❤️
It has been a hot ~minute~ week since I posted on scrapbook. One thing that happened though was that our team was able to get the creator of C++ to speak at our hackathon event. Super excited! 🙂
I played MINDNIGHT for the first time w/ friends - that was a lot of fun! Thanks Adin.
I am redesigning my school newspaper website so I made a maintenance page that redirects to this gif haha. Edit: I accidentally said our twice in the message. I fixed it! I watched Korean drama, did some research planning, and college apps 🙂 here's an illustration of Prophet Orpheus dino I drew for the Hack Club GitHub repo
I found out about the OpenAI GPT-3 a few days back but this is really fascinating. As the article said, it's like the ultimate autocorrect based on what a person wants. We are just getting started folks...
Other than that, I went on five meeting calls today preparing pitch presentations, lab meetings, etc. It was a blast but I am pooped right now. I am going to go to listen to some music and sleep earlier than I normally do today. :sleepingparrot:
Great AMA - thank you Alex for talking to us and @dinaelhanan for hosting :parrot:
Last day! 📸 Saw two deers, read, and listen to music on the road. I uploaded some photos from my camera!
Day two of the road trip! 📸
Day one of the road trip! 📸 Explored Monterey. I’m currently doing some lab work and drafting my research proposal in the hotel right now.
Homemade cookie dough mochi ice cream 👩🍳 The scrapbook is a cool way to reflect on small bits that happens day to day. Went on a nice drive and read a book while listening to music on the trampoline. About to code some more and finish a unit for a course. Made homemade Korean spicy rice cakes (떡볶이) :yay:I made a quick zoom background for the AMA tomorrow (mirrored version)
Putting together a UI/UX course for an organization 🎨 :meow-party:
Attempting Kanye West in code pointillism style TIL at my lab meeting that someone is trying to make a model that “integrates components which writes, executes, and assess code to perform a randomly determined search over the semantic space of possible programs.” This could be a possible game changer in code 🤔
I started my first episode of Rick and Morty today. I got hooked and I am on episode five now! Doing some late night readings for my lab meeting tomorrow. Trying out a new annotating tool called Scrible.
