Day 10 of #10-days-in-public!! I'm really proud of my progress. Even better, I finished the challenge figuring out the issue that was holding me back all along...I wasn't waiting in between the edits (commits?) on Github, so they were all cancelling and not updating. That's why the updates showed on Replit but not my actual website. I'm proud to say courtneystringer.me is up and running, and I hope I'll be able to make more updates as the year goes by. I'm really proud of myself since I hadn't done anything coding-related in a while!!
Day 9 of #10-days-in-public!!! Today I fixed my homepage so it's got the splatterpain in it too 🤭 my only issue is it works in replit but not github, but i'll work on that tomorrow.Day 8 of #10-days-in-public! I wasn't really sure what to do with my homepage since it's empty, so I decided to use the splatterpaint workshop on it. I definitely need to fix it, but its kind of there 🥴 but once its fixed i think it'll be pretty cool.
Day 7 of #10-days-in-public!! I changed the colors again and I think I like them, but they show up different on my laptop vs a desktop (they look more pastel on the desktop). I'm not sure why there's a difference but it's fine either way. I also fixed one of the two issues I was having. I might have to just redo the entire page for the second one later tonight!
Late update, but day 6 of #10-days-in-public!! I didn't do any coding today, but I read up on web design so my website will look better! I also worked through more lessons to refresh my memory :yay:
Day 5 of #10-days-in-public! Today I only made a few updates. I changed the hover color to white (I still am looking for some colors that I'm happy with...the purple is overwhelming). I also create the "about" page, I just don't know what I want to put on it. I used to be weary of using Github, but I really love it, especially clicking the "commit changes" button, it makes me feel so accomplished :eggsdee: I also found a few errors that I'll work to fix tomorrow. And I learned github shows activity stats which i thought was really cool (it hasn't updated for today :(( (((oh i also learned how to make a link open in a new tab!!))0
Day 4 of #10-days-in-public!!! courtneystringer.me is now up!!! I also am starting to use github for it (idk the terminology for coding a website with github) I'm also working to change the color scheme, and i started on the "portfolio" page
Day 3 of #10-days-in-public!! I started to work on my "Education" page...I definitely am going to redo the colors, but it's progress! It took me forever to figure out how to make the images side by side, but I got it after a little research. (Also, I changed my major and it felt really good to make that update)
Day 2 :yay: #10-days-in-public --- It's crazy how much I've forgotten in a year 😭 so I'm starting to go through the freecodecamp course as a refresher. I also finished setting up my github account. I'm trying to think of creative/cool names for my website too!
Day 1 of #10-days-in-public!! I'm starting from scratch with my website, and I also have to relearn some things since it's been a while!! I've gotten the navigation bar finished. The end goal is to have a website that can serve as a resume/portfolio :))
I started working on what's hopefully the final draft of my book. I started it back in early 2020, and it's come such a long way. I can't wait to start designing the cover as well!

I'm down to my final draft (before editing), and it's going really well! I'm so excited. I've changed the plot a little, but it's impacted it so much I have to change the title. 😭 Very excited to finish so I can do the cover art!! :yay:

I finished workshop #2!! Splatter Paint is hard in my opinion, but I love the end result! I also updated the Personal Website with a 'review'. This was really fun & cool because the faster you go, the bigger the circles get, and the slower you go, the smaller they get!!

I never imagined that writing a book would be easy, but everyday I learn how much harder it gets. 😅 Not only do I have to write it, but I also have to create bell schedules for school, schedules for each character, but on top of that, I found myself working on blueprints for the school today to ensure that everything I write lines up with how an actual school would be. On top of all of that I also have to finish my cover. But, it's a really great learning experience :quad_parrot:
I also realized that I incorrectly estimated my publishing time for the end of July. I don't know when I'll ever be able to publish at this rate 😩
