@karmanyaahm03 0603 capacitors on 1 pad, to test out tuning the touch sensor
@karmanyaahm0I finally got my #onboard keyboard under $50 (there's a $9 coupon) so it can be a jam!!! 🎹
@karmanyaahm0Printed a new case to make my TOTkey keychainable
@karmanyaahm0My 3d printer arrived!!!!!!!!!! Literally sooooo excited
@karmanyaahm0I think I finished my scariest #100-days goal with these two ntfy PRs. Still need review and cleanup, but I'm so so so so excited! It was at the top of my TODO list for literal weeks cuz I tried different architectures and everything just seemed kinda sucky so I procrastinated, now I'm at a compromise that I can settle for. Hopefully binwiederhier likes it too
@karmanyaahm0Don't have interesting pictures because I probably shouldn't share proprietary designs but my first time extensively using Altium Designer for my internship at jcore.io which started yesterday
@karmanyaahm0Playing with my keyboard Onboard instead of studying discrete math. This is me and a friend who's very good at playing.@karmanyaahm0My musical keyboard arrived! 🎹
@karmanyaahm0After finishing my research paper I can finally work on the ntfy bugfix again!
@karmanyaahm0Electronic Piano PCB ordered! Jam coming soon™. The gold/silver/circular pads are surfaces connected to capacitive touch sensors (they detect your finger by how it forms a capacitor with the circuit). I have different layers on those to experiment with which finish works best for touch detection in this design. But whenever each key detects touch, it allows the capacitor of the 555 timer (a frequency generator) to be charged at a rate determined by the variable resistor for that key (the potentiometers are at the top). Those potentiometers can be tuned to allow for different frequencies for each key. Then, the 555 timer outputs a signal into the speaker circuit, which you can then hear!
What are your cool name ideas for this PCB? The best suggestion gets to be the jam title!
@karmanyaahm0slowly coming along - slower than expected, but should order early tmrw
@cupcakes0First Ever Quest!! disclaimer: I didn't get very far, but a very interesting experience and learned something new about 3-d modeling through A-frames
#quests will definitely join the next one!!
@karmanyaahm0This is a 555 timer driven speaker, and the RC on the 555 timer charges up at different rates (the Timer label) based on which 'key' is connected. The keys are the individual boxes, each of which has a capacitive touch sensor IC that connects its potentiometer to the 555 timer label, which then charges up the RC based on the potentiometer value (the speed of charging changes the frequency). Basically a capacitive keyboard.
@karmanyaahm0getting started with android development for the first time in well over a half dozen months (I don't think anyone says that, but it's funny)
@karmanyaahm0Not sure what to use for the scrapbook photo but MC'd a vex robotics tournament (message for scrapbook)
@ShubhamPatil0in the process of getting thru my shopping list :orpheushouse:
@karmanyaahm0Too much money but oh well hopefully I get that apple experience that everyone says bambu offers
@karmanyaahm0finally compiled a bambu studio for NixOS and got 3d printer trained
@OrbitalDev0I designed the cover of my final project for my Anatomy and Physiology class! Messing around with unicode to properly render the notes was fun!
@karmanyaahm0This is what the picture sounds like@karmanyaahm0Did SSTV today@OrbitalDev0Got back from camping, worked on my song, wrote some of my novel (designed an instrument), practiced Duolingo and finished school. Wow, I was busy!
@dominic0commenting! and editing!@acon0working on #hack-the-apocalypse site design! (feel free to join + help organize!) i think im likely going to scrap most of this later but the gradient looks nice for now
@OrbitalDev0Da Baby :)))
I read a lot today. I also planned out some of Verador Part II!
Stay tuned for new updates!
@OrbitalDev0Went shopping for books at Barnes and Noble! I found some great ones.
I'll be camping again this weekend, but things should be back to normal next week!
Also Duolingo hates me :/
@acon0started a moodboard of sorts to make the #hack-the-apocalypse website! (feel free to join the channel to help us plan!)
@karmanyaahm0Dunno what picture to put but I checked into my first ham radio net today (N5OAK) along with others from N5XU
@OrbitalDev0T-66 Days until Orpheus wins!
Introducing... Aristeo! He's a member of the Legion, fighting for liberation and justice.
I haven't completely written his character yet, but I'm so excited to explore him! I don't want to spoil much, so I'll quit talking now.
Although I'm not finished with Part I of the novel, I think it's good to plan ahead (you can see some earlier character designs of aristeo in #orbital-lab!)
I also practiced duolingo, the usual and whatnot.
I finished They Both Die at the End. It was so good, but also WHYYYYY.... It made me cry because it was so sad :(
Stay hacky, y'all :cowboy_mild_panic_attack:
@cupcakes0Late Scrap! I completed Git-it last weekend, was so much fun, 100% forgot half of it but I'm really excited to play around with my terminal when creating future projects!!
@peeponawheel0one of my goals for 100 days was organising my shit (starting easy :monkey-eye-1: so i decidded to finally go through the ~30 bookmark exported files i have
signed up for a bookmark manager
imported half of them
it's so convenient :ratscream: wonder why i never did it before
yay orpheus :orpheushouse:
@OrbitalDev0T-67 Days until Orpheus wins!
Okay so I'm literally writing this right before I go to bed. I'm super tired because It's been a long day, but here are some notes of what I did today!
• Started reading They Both Die at the End. It's really good so far, and I'm halfway in. I'll probably be a bad kid and stay up and read some more
• I practiced esperanto on duolingo... I'll probably step up my practicing this friday because I'll be on my way to camp this weekend again.
• Finished the rough draft of Episode 2 of my serial novel, Zero Gravity (now publishing on Kindle Vella and Wattpad!)
• Explored some new songwriting ideas
• Got my learner's permit... Oh, and my license to kill, but that's a secret 😉
• Wrote some stuff for school
• Wrote this little scrapbook post
Anyway that's all, folks. Stay hacky!
PS: You get... A bad 11pm selfie because I took absolutely zero pictures of anything I did, and I don't want to spoil the next episode of Zero Gravity (even though it's kinda predictable tbh)
