Day 18/365 im so tired Tasks I made progress on: • Khrome ◦ Added SFX and a SFX system ◦ Added UI to display the current level ◦ Made two levels - one significantly simpler than the other... Streaks • Journal ✅ • Reflection ✅ • Commits ✅ • Medicines :red-x: :tired: Reflection Mood: 4/5 Productivity: 3/5 Today was overall a sleepy day. Got some quality lock-in time in the evening though, so managed to finish some of the smaller stuff. All that's left to do is make the levels then ship the game for V1! Speaking of levels... Introducing the monstrosity known as Carousel Part 2. Half the obstacles aren't even visible. My last two braincells can't figure out how to make it work without angling the sun, which makes it practically impossible to control the player's landing. Maybe when I wake up in the morning I'll know what to do.

Wired the Keys and Rotary Encoders on the midi keyboard for blueprint Following the tutorial, I used matrix wiring to wire all the keys and rotary encoders. It took me a stupid amount of time to realize that the reason the keys were in the order of a piano keyboard. I also put labels on all the GPIO pins on the RPI Pico symbol.

Day 19/50 • Showcased Milkyway Pets in a huddle! I was really nervous so congrats to everybody else who participated in either showcase :blahaj-heart: It's so inspiring seeing everybody else's projects and just makes me more motivated :D • Worked a bit on my personal website. This is a cadenza I wrote for a piano concerto collab with my friends. I made a visualizer using MIDIVisualizer for everyone to enjoy too! GitLab for log purposes is at gitlab.com/terezi/altcadenza (note for reviewers - i wrote down the notes and the performance outline today, but the themes come from some years ago and many ideas on textures came from assorted improvisations. I only logged the 5 hours that I could demonstrate were spent working on the music.) Honestly it was so refreshing to work on something other than code, it helped me relax a lot.

I captured the first waveform on my new oscilloscope!!! This is from my pocket PCB piano (prev. musical keyboard) speaker output. Effectively the output of a 555 timer!!! So exciting!!

Electronic Piano PCB ordered! Jam coming soon™. The gold/silver/circular pads are surfaces connected to capacitive touch sensors (they detect your finger by how it forms a capacitor with the circuit). I have different layers on those to experiment with which finish works best for touch detection in this design. But whenever each key detects touch, it allows the capacitor of the 555 timer (a frequency generator) to be charged at a rate determined by the variable resistor for that key (the potentiometers are at the top). Those potentiometers can be tuned to allow for different frequencies for each key. Then, the 555 timer outputs a signal into the speaker circuit, which you can then hear! What are your cool name ideas for this PCB? The best suggestion gets to be the jam title!

After 399 days my streak has officially come to the first place with the 400th day today! :tw_tada: :fireball: :parrotdad: I started last year just as something to do when I joined Hack Club :hack-club: but it have become a great way to keep small updates of the things I've been working on and learning. So for today, besides celebrating this, I finished my code and add more documentation updates for github.com/javierzaleta/splatter-paint (please consider starring it ⭐ on GitHub!) and made a piano website with another workshop 🎹 that I'll share soon besides a JavaScript :javascript: music visualizer. Also, I just need to wait one more day for my last Hacktoberfest PR :hacktoberfest-2022: to be accepted and sadly I missed Sal Khan's AMA. :sadge: :khan-academy:
