@Amber0day 1!
• fixed hackclub.com/slack :D
• did one fire dept onboarding call
• went to the country park to take some nice sunset photos and came back with nothing good because it was too cloudy and then too dark to take any photos
• edited the best photo (it's still terrible)
• worked on my new website! it has a lightbulb synced to my actual lightbulb which was hard to get working but i'm really happy it works now! (demo)
@koeg0Automatic chicken door that connects to to internet to get sunset and sunrise times and current time, goes to deep sleep if the user isn't interacting with the device, wake up when it needs to open/close, the ui and core logic parts are separated so writing new ui(such as a web app the is served form the esp32) would be easily done. The ui still needs some love, there are a few bugs left and a couple of features that need to be implemented. The next step is to make the pcb with onboard and 3d model an enclosure. Here is a wokwi demo, the set time ui is still buggy so i didnt show that, i show here how to calibrate the motors open and close positions@Abhay-U04GVEDH0490Finished a new sunset pixel art!!

@ajs20had an frc team meeting today! in addition to having some new prospective members, we focused on getting ready for sunset showdown (an offseason competition on the USS Hornet). our main issue is that the beam-break sensors we use don’t work well in the sun, so we tried a few things to fix it. we 3d printed some shrouds for the sensors (first pic) that have little flanges to stop light from refracting inside. we also tried putting aluminum foil around the recievers (second pic) to try and stop the radiation. the foil didn’t work as well as the new shrouds did. we also got a new member trained on the cnc working on a personal project (3rd pic)
@Marios0Well I am home but at what cost, the internet here is so bad anyways I was travelling all day. Here is a suns set thing
@cwalker0Just picked up 70 empty vanilla flavoring jugs today. Car smells great.
Remember everyone: ALWAYS REDUNDANTLY SECURE YOUR LOADS. You can never have enough ratchet straps. And check them as you drive! During one of my checks today, I discovered the temperature drop after sunset caused the containers to shrink a bit, loosening the straps. Never would’ve been able to anticipate that!
@Sameer0YAY, Had a meet with the amazing @Holly for my club " Phoenix Hacks", and Had an amazing time, She helped me set up my club. Taught me about HC resources I can use for the development, and showed me the beautiful sunset pictures from (HQ) Vermont!!:beatsaber:
@msw0anime style scene of a chair that looks like an avocado surrounded by flowers, sunset with lavender and orange sky, birds flying...
played around with dall-e running locally some more today. Just played with making images from text inputs so far, but just found a batching feature that will let me generate from a whole list of text inputs. going to play with editing the image inputs to the model when i next have free time
@jzaleta0Today I had my first college admission exam! 🏫 🎉 It was at the University City of my city. 🏙️ And after that I had a lot of free time to study for another incoming test, continued playing Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order :jediparrot: and learned more about Data Visualization and Force-Directed graphs, this is going to be very useful for a cool project I will try to make, and speaking of projects, I'm almost ready to reveal all of the details for my Open Source :merge: Hack Club :hack-club: project! Lastly, here's a very cool photo 📸 of the sunset and a game-screenshot of my lightsaber! 🤺

@zrl0I replaced the extruded in my 3D printer today! The pre-assembled extruders were all out of stock, so I had to buy the parts for one (which got lost in the mail, so had to place a second order…), put it together, and then pull out the old clogged extruder in the printer and replace it with the new one I assembled.
I've always been kind of intimidated by hardware and am really proud of myself for getting this done! + bonus sunset picture from tonight
@christina6950Still on vacation 🌊 Got a little stuck with JavaScript this morning but kept going. Then went for a walk on the beach at sunset and bumped into Jack Dorsey. Not joking! Said hi. He said hi back.
@ella0My code-in-the-dark submission. (Attempted recreation of hackclub.com/slack) :eggdog::deer-thoughts-head-full::sunset-vermont::fireworksdark:
@zrl0beautiful sunset tonight. trying to learn how to make good timelapses with davinci resolve.@matt0Sunset photography in Acadia National Park, Maine! I’ll be editing on the drive home this weekend so I should have cool photos to post :)
@philipstudentemail0I went to a car meet, that is Thursday evening in the spring and summer. There is a piece of my childhood in this dollar general parking lot. As a younger child I would go on hot July evenings and look at engines, cars, and feebly try to talk to other car people. This is a video I got today as the meet was starting to die down bc of sunset and I think some people tried to street race and got pulled over like a block away 😂.@christina6950Last sunset of 2020 over the NY Adirondacks. Happy New Year!
@pradyungn0Lil late, but I went out with some cool people - it was honestly a lot of fun, and a much-needed break. (Ignore the part where i went gung ho about hand sanitizer the whole time)
@reese.tuttle230The sunset the other day was absolutely INSANE it was perfect. Such a pretty pink <3. 🎨 :pink-floyd:
@caleb0I'm gonna try to get @scrappy to react with as many emojis as possible, for no particular reason.
When we arrived in space, there were shouts of "yay!" and "hooray!" I wanted to sleep, but the sunset was much too captivating. As I struggled to paint a representation of the masterpiece, my art was cut short by a reminder of our predicament. Our ship's Linux core had been damaged by a rain storm. Upon further inspection, is appeared as though the Rust installation on our ship's robot had been corrupted. We debated which language to replace it with; "Golang!" Matt said. "Swift!" Linus shouted. "Deno!" "JavaScript!" We decided on rewriting the robot's code using minecraft redstone (that way we didn't have to use npm). 15 years later, once we finished, we pushed to the GitHub repository. But wait! The robot's hardware was also severely crippled. We had to 3d print some parts, after getting the models from Google.
