I'm doing a lot of fundraising this week so I didn't do much coding yesterday or today. This morning, I was applying to a Melinda Gates grant. Finally, loaded my trained model from Kaggle and predicted successfullyEnjoyed the HackClub CTF, learnt a lot of things! Had fun! We ranked 3rd - Team Prokesa🤘 with 20650 pointshad a great making session with @cwalker, building a cool project to end off summer of making :partyparrot: built a landing page generator for OnePwaa events today and did all sorts of small things... here's a photo of me and my siblings in front of a bullet train in ShanghaiBuilding Hack Club Nigeria siteHey everyone!
After several months in the making and tons of advice and help, I am proud to announce the Students Who Code is now live!
Students Who Code allows users to sign up to get free course about computer science and learn different coding languages. Due to the lack of computer science education, Students Who Code goal is to increase students access to computer science and coding lessons.
Alongside our courses, Students Who Code has developed, Coding Connected; a community for users to share projects they have made, get help from Code Masters to ask questions or to get advice, and to participate in different events.
Right now we are only rolling out 6 courses, mainly based around HTML/CSS with advanced and new languages coming within the next couple weeks and month.
Please check it out and let me know what you think!
Students Who Code | studentswhocode.orgI got home from a camping trip to find that my second third of parts from hack club have arrived, including my batteries, motor, and blank pcb!!!Since I can light up my 2 nixies I can't turn them off as I spend too much time admiring their beauty.
But the code doesn't handle 2 nixies so I added something so every 10 seconds it switch between displaying minutes and hour. Why only 2? because it's the size of the prototype and wiring 22 wires is already hard enough.
Will soon start on designing the PCB and hopefully get it very soon to start soldering everything and bring it to life!
Note: the entire clock is powered only from USB-C and that's cool af honestly, and soon I'll see my grandfather who worked with nixie tubes in the 70' so I can't wait to show him! :)My package with the most stuff i need for the hardware party is arrived. Thx @sampoder. And yes i will share it in the scrapbook lol I got my first delivery I'm so excited. Thank you so much @roshan @sampoder,, and the complete SOM team for making this possible!Roll up for the Magical Mystery Tour!:partyparrot: 😀 , setting up my new workplace! Also, the weather is too good today, enjoy horse riding with dadBegan testing a pair of LoRa radios for a DIY RC plane remote controller. Spent like 3 hours troubleshooting code before I discovered I was using the library for a different style radio. I’m now able to instantiate a new radio object and configure it. Tomorrow, hopefully I can get them communicating and test the range.made big progress on the som project — (display that listens to live music, and displays album cover) with @ahenikoffI got this OLED display working!Clippy now recommends #orpheus-legion to newly-promoted members with she/her or they/them pronouns! This was part of the Clippy flow pre-summer of making that I had forgotten to carry over until now. Didn't do much so here's an image of a QuasarFeeling motivated to learn after the CTF. So i followed a tutorial on how to make a simple calculator in python. I know this is probably very very basic and easy to everyone else here lol.Browsing through all these Tech Sites - TechCrunch, Bloomberg etc. :partyparrot:got a tech demo running on bank. the black cards are from stripe, and you can issue them for yourself instantly (no more review/approval step). just live on my dev server, rnHad a productive day today, adding reactions to the Scrapbook homepage & adding mention pages for users, thinking about explorability/browsability, being able to get lost in the site in a way that feels natural. Also made a site for Hack Club’s Minecraft server & got started on another site. The weirdest GitHub Profile README.md I saw! 🤣I've taken my first step. I Just set up the stepper motors for my AI Arm!Hi i'm Michael! my first API service, build on laravel, now i'm working on the backend. Anyway, this is my first post on scrapbook My grade. My flute isn’t as shiny anymore but yay I have some runs down Now that we're getting back on track, we decided to take things slow and ease ourselves back into the swing of things. I created a list for ourselves, but we'll post so that we can keep track far into the future, but also now for everyone reading this, as it'll give a guide as to what we'll do each day.
Also, the GitHub repo has been set up again with a tentative name. We decided to use Godot to put more focus on game development rather than game programming. Here's the link for anyone wanting to view!
More to be done tomorrow! We'll get that game board set up and everything, perhaps even the Raspberry Pi too.Having some fun time with LEDs in the significance of pi approximation day, (22/7 = 22nd July)😀 :partyparrot: 🤟 📸Personally I really 💖 custom emojis :yay: on our Slack :slack: & I may be :expanding_brain_4: :expanding_brain_2: working on some improvements to :dumpster-fire: Scrappy to launch today 🛫 @neel.redkar pulled through with a super helpful PR to get it rolling.
